Discover and taste traditional South African dishes, as Samantha Buyskes, who was born and raised in South Africa, shares her favorite stories and traditional recipes. This 4-course demonstration dinner will be paired with stunning examples of South African wines curated by sommelier Laura Winter Falk. Laura will share wines that evoke 400 years of wine making history, from Chenin Blanc made from old bush vines of the Swartland, to Pinotage – the uniquely South African varietal.
The evening will end with a special dessert pairing with the exalted Vin de Constance, a dessert wine that dates back to late 1700’s when it was the favorite of European kings and emperors, including Napolean who had it ordered from his exile on St. Helena.
